Basilica of
Our Lady of the Angels (incl Basilica of San ta Maria degli Angeli) was built in the vicinity of Assisi to Pop e Pius V in the years 1569-1679. In 1909 the church was elevated to the status of the Patriarchal Basilica by Pope Pius X. The thr ee-nave structure with a length of 126, a width of 65 m and a height 75 meters to the level of the dome, was designed by Galeazzo Alessi in Perugia, to the intersection of the nave and transept was a a small church from the tenth century called Porziuncola (molecule).
